The deuteragonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series is Miles “Tails”
Prower. His moniker comes from the fact that he was born brown and is
now orange-yellow. He only has two twin tails, which he utilizes to fly
by turning them like helicopter rotors.

Miles Prower is a play on the phrase “miles per hour,” which alludes to
the renowned speed of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. His
moniker comes from the fact that he is a young, male, fox with two tails
(in contrast to the fabled kitsune, or “yoko,” who was sometimes shown
with up to nine). For a brief period of time, he can lift off the ground
like a helicopter using his two tails. On October 16, 1992, he made his
debut.
